Yes Ladies and Gents,

I will be making some code updates to the site this upcoming weekend 8/5/11 – 8/8/11 to transfer from the prototype lightbox to the jquery lightbox.

The reason is so that can cut down the amount of js libraries that I’m using and thus improve load time of my site.

I know that prototype and scriptaculous are awesome and all but let’s face it I can’t just keep on piling on the js libraries for one small aspect. jQuery apparently is what I’m using a lot on this site so I’ve decided to go through and clean up.

On that note I realize that the file pages need to be updated as well since they don’t show up like the rest of the pages (they’re missing the background and border around the displayed content). Also I wanted to fiddle around with the comic system =P and make it better (mainly I’ll be reworking my code so that it’ll accept the numbers of the page instead of expecting the written out number of the page aka 21 vs twenty-one).

In the mean time I will have a Page updates occurring page so that you won’t see the horrors of updates in process. Trust its better that way. So, expect the site to be down on Friday (8/5/11) night and be back up and running by Monday (8/8/11).

Finally, the foxylynn comic…. I’m seriously thinking of finishing up that tutorial as a vid… or to finish it out entirely as a text post with Foxy here and there in the text every once and a while. While doing that we’ll accomplish several things such as:

1. We’ll actually finish the tutorial
2. That portion of the comic will be very searchable
3. It will be less time consuming for me to finish the tutorial and gets us well on our way to the story of Foxy
4. I’ll be going back and moving the tutorials that Foxy does to the tutorial section of my site and converting most of it to text with images for better search-ability

Oh yeah before I go I wanted to let you know the movement on making this site mobile friendly…. I’m in the process of creating a template/theme for the mobile version of this site. Which is another reason why I’m going through and cleaning up the code. I can’t expect people with limited data plans to download all that data… so I’m being nice and I’m gonna clean up my site (which is another reason why I’m converting Foxy’s tutorial to text).
